The chefs of Edible Education are hosting 4 morning cooking camps at St. Michael’s this year. Campers can learn several, go to recipes, in our Edible Essentials camp or learn more exotic fare in our Cruise at Sea camp.  

St. Michael’s is handling the registration for camps held at their location. Their registration process is not available until late February/early March 2017.  You can reserve your spot in one of our camps, by contacting Allyson Steele at  When camp registration is active, the “Register” button,  will direct you to their website to register.

Cruise at Sea

Hola, Bonjour, Ciao, Nǐ hǎo, Aloha, Hello! Campers will create recipes that are indigenous to far flung ports of call such as: France, Mexico, Italy, China and Hawaii. Where will our culinary ship disembark?  A sampling of items on the menu: crepes, pasta – linguine, ravioli, tamales, ahi poke, chicken long rice soup, haupia, and pot stickers. .

Science of Cooking

Measurements can be a fun way to brush up on math skills. Discover the reactions between various foods and how heat affects ingredients. Students will earn the “why” of working with unique ingredients and processes. From the science of breads to the science of pickling, campers will have a delicious time discovering how much fun science can be in the kitchen.

Edible Essentials

This is the camp for a beginner chef to get a start on making basic recipes that will serve throughout a lifetime. Recipes made in this class are so kid friendly your camper will feel confident about making them at home. A sampling of item on the menu are:  omelettes, smoothies, mac-n- cheese, pasta, brownie sundaes and ice cream.

Open a Bakery

This is one of our most popular camps – it fills up fast!  Do you dream of cookies, cakes and pies? In this fun baking class, you will practice math, science and more while creating the best with the summer harvest. Fruit pies, quick breads, yeast breads, cookies, tarts and more are in store for this session – your family will love the results! Parent’s/family members are welcome to stop out on the last day to sample the confections made in camp.  Due to the recipes and techniques used, this class is for rising 5th graders on up.
